5 weeks old now...

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me

I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed

She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb

In the shape of an 'L' on her forehead

Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming

So anyway, Audrey and I are both singing to Ellie a lot now. It's just something you do to keep her attention and to cover up the fact that you'd only be talking gibberish to her anyway. I like to think I'm gently steering her towards the more refined arenas of musical tastes by exposing her to the works of Miles Davis, LemonJelly and the Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi. But there's no point really. She like the Muppet song just as much as any of those and Lord knows what stuff Audrey sings to her when I'm at work. Still the project to turn her into some kind of mini version of me, with all my attendant hatreds and conceits continues apace. For her part, Audrey is determined to turn her into a tennis player. As she so consistently points out, "is there any better way for her to live her live vicariously though her?"
